Co-Chairs:

Phanish Suryanarayana, Georgia Institute of Technology

Amartya Banerjee, University of California-Los Angeles

Swarnava Ghosh, California Institute of Technology

Summary:

This mini-symposium aims to bring together researchers interested in theoretical and computational developments in the study of nanomaterials (including nanotubes, nanowires, nanoclusters, 2D materials, etc.).

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to recent progress in the study of:

  • Mechanical, electronic and optical properties of nanomaterials
  • Theory and applications of strain engineering
  • Novel techniques for the study of nanomaterials (first principles, atomistic, and multi-scale techniques)
  • Defects in nanomaterials
  • Coupled phenomena in nanomaterials
